Sunday Sharing Pinterest Party - Week 6
How was your week? Ours was hectic! We finally had everything align perfectly so we could have a field trip! On Tuesday, we went to Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, and we had a wonderful time becoming Junior Park Rangers. We still had the usual running around - therapy appointments, Spanish class, and of course, the never-ending grocery runs!
Did you get a chance to see all the pins linked last week? Wow! Tons of ideas - and so much yummy food! I'm going to need to go back to the grocery store! It was so hard to choose favorites, but I finally did.
Avocado, huh? This fruit intimidates me for some reason. This cake from For Him and My Family sounds like a pretty safe way to give it a go.
On the other hand, how can you go wrong with chocolate?
These snack bars are from Autumnfawn Lane are just chock-full of it!
I love, love, love rice pudding. But I'm always burning the bottom of the pot! I often bake my rice when I'm cooking it for dinner, so why not bake rice pudding like Tots and Me makes?
Totally a "DUH" moment for me! I can't wait to try this.
It's almost time for the "seasonal clothing migration" to begin. I can ruthlessly work through the kids' closets - there's always a turnover with clothes either outgrown or stained. My closet -- not so much. I tend to tuck things toward the back - especially things that don't fit and I hope will "someday again," - or pare out the stuff the kids have ruined and wind up desperately throwing Target t-shirts (that really don't suit me in cut or personality) in the cart so I'm not naked. The 33-33 Clothing Challenge at Through the Calm and Through the Storm really made me think about what I had, and what I really needed.
I'm kind of embarrassed to say I didn't even have 33 items of clothing! I still don't, but I was inspired to go mindfully shopping for items that fit, flattered, that I really loved, and not go overboard with any one article of clothing so I could have a balanced closet.
Finally, I loved this booklist from It's My Sweet Life.
Usually I think of read-alouds for younger students, and find lists of suggestions for them. This contains loads of read-aloud ideas for nearly every subject, but for big kids. I think I'm going to take a few from this list and start my own list for my big kids.
As much as I loved last week's pins, I'm excited for it to be a new week!

Thanks so much for "featuring" my rice pudding recipe. Growing up I never knew that you could make rice pudding on the stove, my mom always made it in the oven. I struggle with getting it right all the time, but I think I finally figured it out. It is so creamy and yummy. Unfortunately the children don't like it as much as me. Or, I guess that could be fortunately, more for me. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOH yeah, I pinned your party so I won't forget where to find it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for featuring my read-aloud list. Reading to my daughter is one of my favorite parts of the day!
